          VILLAS VERSUS SMALL HOUSES.

Born in a middle-class family, spent living in a small house,

A house comprising of one bedroom, hall, and a kitchen,

Filled with abundant love and great fun,

Always before parents, playing and creating mischief.

Sleep together, pushing and kicking each other,

Mom’s slow call was sufficient to respond,

We spent few minutes massaging papa’s legs while watching television,

We, siblings, laughed, fought, and studied together.

Ate food together, sharing and enjoying,

In that small house, guests were also not rare,

Every day there were guests to share and sleep together,

Life was so beautiful and filled with fun.

Dad spent all his money giving us a good education,

Studied well and gained better positions at work,

Earned a lot to construct big mansions and villas,

With rooms for every individual and many extras added.

Now, moms’ scream their lungs out, but kids are busy in their rooms,

No one can enter the room as it attacks their privacy,

It is a war to eat even a single meal together,

Parents and children are moving away from each other.

Now, no kids fight over the single pillow,

No guest come uninvited, and if they come, they are considered a burden,

Moms crave to see their kids who are lost in their own gravity,

Every kid has a separate room and secrecy.

Is this what we wish for by earning money,

It is good we have villas, but let not distance between us grow,

Big houses should not steal the love between the family,

And the bond should remain as strong as ever.
